Irene B., a Paraguayan mother of six serving a four-year sentence at Tatuape, holds a photograph of her six children, all of whom are in Paraguay. The last child, now two years old, was born in prison and then taken to Paraguay by a member of a local charity. Irene has requested a transfer to a prison on the Paraguayan border, close to her family, but officials have not responded to her letters.
