2008 London and New York Film Festival Submissions
General 2009 festival submissions are now closed.
As the festival has a limited staff and budget and reviews hundreds of films each year, we have a strict policy on submissions. Our policy is for interested filmmakers to email the information listed below to submissions@hrw.org.
Please do not send attachments - include all relevant information in the text/body of your email. All relevant information means the following:
- Director's name and film's title
- Film synopsis and filmmaker bio
- Country and year of production
- Film's running time and format
- Complete contact information
All emailed submissions will be reviewed by the festival committee. The committee will contact you if they are interested in screening a DVD copy of your film. Unsolicited films will not be considered for the festival. Submissions are only accepted for our London and New York festivals. Our Traveling Festival is not open to unsolicited submissions.
The festival does not charge any fees for submissions. If your film is considered for the festival be advised we do not return DVDs. The festival does not send out rejection letters. We will contact those filmmakers whose films are accepted to participate in the festival.
Youth Producing Change Film Submissions

The Human Rights Watch International Film Festival in partnership with Adobe Youth Voices seeks youth-produced media works on human rights issues for its second annual YOUTH PRODUCING CHANGE program to screen in our New York, London, Boston and San Francisco film festivals in 2009-10.
Armed with digital cameras, computers and their own boundless creativity –young people across the globe are bravely exposing human rights issues faced by themselves and their communities. Now in its second year, YOUTH PRODUCING CHANGE provides a platform for youth to share their perspectives with audiences worldwide.
