The regime in China is committing crimes against humanity against Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslims in the northwest region of Xinjiang, Human Rights Watch says in a new report published today. The UN Human Rights Council should create a commission of inquiry that can identify officials responsible for abuses, so they can eventually be held accountable.

The unjustly jailed Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has been transferred to a prison hospital as many inside and outside Russia fear for his life.

In a deeply unsettling letter, Prime Minister Boris Johnson of the United Kingdom asserted his government's strong opposition to the Palestine investigation by the International Criminal Court.
