The military in Myanmar has seized power in a coup, detaining de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi and other senior civilian officials during early morning raids on Monday. 

For the second weekend in a row, Russian police forcibly and at times brutally dispersed peaceful protests, arbitrarily detaining more than 5,000 people across Russia.
