Lebanese authorities are failing to address the acute economic and political crisis.

Ukraine has lifted travel restrictions on residents of non-government areas in the east that had largely prevented them from accessing their pensions and pushed them further into poverty - an important step, but more needs to be done.

Probation and parole are promoted as alternatives to incarceration that help people get back on their feet, but instead feed bloated jail and prison populations in the United States, Human Rights Watch and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) said in a new joint report.

A judge in San Salvador has found three police officers guilty of the January 2019 killing of Camila Díaz Córdova, a transgender woman, and sentenced each to 20 years in prison - a pivotal judgment for rights in the country.

After one year in office, Mauritania’s President Mohamed Ould Ghezouani has made scant progress in overhauling existing repressive laws.

Finally, yesterday marked Roma Holocaust Memorial Day.
