Rwandan authorities are locking up children in inhuman and degrading conditions under the pretense of rehabilitating them. The government should stop using transit and so-called rehabilitation centers to rid the capital of street children

Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

Recent steps taken by the Nepalese government are a serious setback on the country's transitional justice process.

Tomorrow's review of the situation in Turkey before the United Nations offers a chance to acknowledge and address the country’s human rights crisis and the erosion of its rule of law framework.

"Climate change is an existential threat to humanity and as such, should be included in legislation on asylum seeking," writes Bill Frelick, director of HRW's Refugee Rights Program, on the need to change the definition of refugee.

And the annual Toronto Human Rights Watch Film Festival is starting this week.
