"Unconscionable abuses" against young children are taking place in Border Patrol detention facilities on the US-Mexico border, HRW has said. An HRW researcher found toddlers who have been separated from their parents being held in sparse facilities designed to be temporary, but actually being used to hold children for 3 or 4 weeks. It comes amid a horrifying political row over whether detained children should even be allowed to receive soap and toothbrushes
