Paula Lance sits on the remains of the house that she and her husband were building on land that was taken from them by paramilitaries and then returned to her by court order. The day before this photograph was taken, an armed group descended from the original paramilitaries who displaced Ms. Lance knocked the frame of the house down in order to intimidate her.
