A. Al-Azbakiya Public Prosecution Office, March 22, 2003, Prosecution Report No. 1686/2003:

All received four days' detention, renewed for seven days by a renewal judge on March 24. All are known to have been beaten severely on the night of March 22 at the al-Khalifa police station. All were charged with:
1) Participating in an illegal assembly of more than 5 people with the aim of disturbing public peace and security, and assaulting people and money (the Illegal Assembly [Tagamhur] Law of 1914);
2) participating with others in the transmission of inciting propaganda that could disturb public safety and harm public interests (Penal Code Article 102 bis);
3) participating of others in the obstruction of public transportation on land (Penal Code Article 167);
4) participating with other in assaulting law enforcement personnel while practicing their job (Penal Code Article 136).

2) Assaulting law enforcement personnel and resisting them with force and violence in the practice of their duty, resulting in their injury (Penal Code Article 136);
3) Participating in an illegal assembly of more than five people which could endanger public peace and refusal to obey orders of the authority to dissassemble (Illegal Assembly Law of 1914).

1) Participating in an illegal assembly of more than five people which could endanger public peace with the aim of destroying public property and preventing government authorities from practicing their duties, and using force to that end (Illegal Assembly Law);
2) Participating with the other defendants in setting fire to state-owned public property, namely fire engine #737 Cairo;
3) Participating with other defendants in the destruction of state-owned motorcycles numbers 235 Police, 2612 Cairo, and causing the damages explained in the papers with the aim of promoting alarm among people and producing disorder.

D. State Security Prosecution Office, March 23, 2003

1) participating with more than 5 others in an illegal assembly with the aim of assaulting public property and affecting the authorities by the use of force and violence;
2) using force and violence against the police forces designated for protection, with the aim of preventing them from carrying out their duties and throwing stones at them to assault them, which caused the injuries explained [in the prosecution report], with the aim of destroying public property designated for the public interest, namely motorcycle 5262 Cairo Traffic, and destroying an advertising billboard of the National Democratic Party, and destroying a fire truck that belonged to civil defense, and destroying the gate of the Nile Hilton Hotel.
