Council Membership Benefits
Council members have the opportunity to advance our efforts substantively
through advocacy and outreach initiatives, and financially through personal
contributions and solicitations. Though basic Human Rights Watch membership
requires a contribution of US $50.00 or more, Council membership giving levels
are established at a US $5,000, $10,000, and $25,000 plus level, or the ability
to raise this amount of resources for the organization. All members will
be invited to participate in or receive the following:
- An annual meeting with the Executive Director who will review the organization's
current strategy and brief Council members on HRW's most important work;
- Regular events with leading human rights activists, policy makers, diplomats
and special dignitaries who are actively involved in the human rights cause;
- Meetings with senior members of the Human Rights Watch program staff;
- The opportunity to support and participate in Human Rights Watch special
events, both locally and nationally;
- A quarterly update on the work of Human Rights Watch from the Executive Director,
and a semi-annual newsletter;
