people and destroyed a prosperous Black neighborhood, deep-rooted problems remain, and the enduring legacy of structural racism and injustices continue. Many Tulsan community leaders gave powerful speeches, with calls to action and \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.hrw.org\/news\/2020\/05\/29\/us-provide-reparations-1921-tulsa-race-massacre\u0022\u003Edemands for long overdue reparations\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EDr. Robert Turner, pastor of Historic Vernon Chapel A.M.E. Children were running, mothers were looking, grandmothers were afraid. We as a people are not yet free to even walk down the streets of Tulsa without the police coming to harass and assault our young men.
