Francisco Berreta is the Columbia Law School David W. Leebron Fellow. Francisco holds a J.D. from the University of Buenos Aires Law School and an LL.B. from the University of London. Francisco obtained his Master’s degree in Law (LL.M.) at Columbia University in the city of New York, where he was a Human Rights Fellow and obtained a certification in Sexuality and Gender Law as well as in International and Comparative Law. His work focuses on interrelated issues of international human rights, gender and LGBT rights, specifically in relation to the right to health and the economic, social and cultural rights of LGBT people. Prior to joining Human Rights Watch, Francisco clerked for a city court in Buenos Aires and collaborated in the research and co-authored a Handbook for Parliamentarians on Human Rights, Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity.
