Aan Rusdianto  13 March 1998  Initially threatened with subversion charges but no formal charges have been announced. Student activist Indonesian Students for Democracy (SMID) Police custody at Polda Metro Jaya, in Jakarta Arrested in Jakarta along with Nezar Patria and Mugiyono, in connection with a bomb blast in Jakarta in January 1998. Held in incommunicado military custody for two days during which they were subjected to torture including having electric shocks applied to their genitals.
Andi Arief "Disappeared"

Not clear SMID Transferred to police Headquarters Jakarta on 17 April. Believed to have been in military custody prior to this. Andi Arief had been sought by the authorities since July 1996. He was abducted from Lampung in March 1998 and the authorities denied any knowledge of his whereabouts. On 17 April he emerged in police custody in Jakarta but there has still been no clarification concerning his initial arrest and detention. There are as yet no formal charges against Andi Arief although the police stated that he is in detention in connection with a bomb blast in a Jakarta flat in January 1998.
