The Netherlands Committee, founded in 2009, consists of engaged and well-informed Dutch human rights supporters from a variety of backgrounds. The Netherlands committee is part of the Human Rights Watch Council, an international network of Committees. Founded in 1998, the Human Rights Watch Council is a global network of individuals and committees that support the organization through fundraising, outreach and advocacy.  Members have the opportunity to advance the efforts of Human Rights Watch through debates, briefings and cultural events, and financially through personal contributions and fundraising.
