Submission Information

Submissions for the 2007 film festival season are now closed.

The committee will contact you if they are interested in screening a VHS or DVD copy of your film/video. Any unsolicited tapes will not be considered for the festival. If your submission email was sent prior to the 10th December following the guidelines below, your submission will be reviewed. There is no need to call or send additional emails. We will contact you if we would like to obtain a VHS or DVD preview copy of your film.

As the festival has a limited staff and budget and reviews hundreds of films each year, we have a strict policy on submissions. Our policy is for interested filmmakers to email the information listed below to submissions@hrw.org

PLEASE do not send attachments. We will not open them. Include all relevant information in the text/body of your email. All relevant information means the following:

  • Director's name and film's title
  • Film synopsis and filmmaker bio
  • Country and year of production
  • Film's running time and format
  • Complete contact information

All emailed submissions will be reviewed by the festival committee. Submissions are only accepted for our New York festival. Neither our London festival nor our Traveling Festival are open to unsolicited submissions. The submission deadline for this season is December 10, 2006.

The festival does not charge any fees for submissions. If your film/video is considered for the festival be advised we do not return VHS tapes or DVDs. The festival does not send out rejection letters. We will contact those filmmakers whose films/videos are accepted to participate in the festival.
