Tough on Crime, Tough on our Kind (NY Premiere)

EVC's Youth Organizers' Television (YO-TV) - US - 2000 - 30m - video - documentary
In English

Concerned by the inequities in the criminal justice system and its treatment of youth, the YO-TV producers examine the New York City juvenile justice system. The documentary focuses on the societal factors that cause youth crime and the problems in the system, while exploring a range of possible solutions. By incorporating the personal stories of youth who have experienced the system and interviews with experts such as lawyers, judges and social workers, the YO-TV producers show what can happen when youth enter into the maze of the juvenile justice system.
