Marc L. de Lacharrière was born in 1940.

Former vice-president/CEO of L’Oreal, he is the founder and CEO of FIMALAC. Created in 1991, the group comprises FITCH Ratings, third largest financial ratings agency in the world, and ALGORITHMICS, specialised in business risk management. FITCH Ratings is present in more than 5O countries and covers all aspects of financial ratings. ALGORITHMICS is a leader in business risk management.

Since 2000, Marc L. de Lacharrière is the Administrator of the groups Casino, L’Oreal and Renault.

Elected in 2006 at the Académie de Beaux-Arts, Marc L. de Lacharrière is also president of La Revue des deux mondes and of the Foundation for culture and diversity, which helps young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in the study and practice of art and culture.

He is a sponsor of the Musée du Louvre.
