Gérard Brémond, born September 22, 1937, has a degree in Economic Science and a diploma from the Institut d’Administration des Entreprises. He joined the family business (housing, office and warehouse construction) at the age of 24.
His passion for architecture and his meeting with Jean Vuarnet, the Olympic skiing champion, were the inspiration for the creation and development of the ski resort at Avoriaz. Gérard Brémond then began to develop other mountain and seaside resorts and the group ‘Pierre & Vacances’ was born. Gérard Brémond chairs the group Pierre & Vacances.
Gérard Brémond has also created two communications companies (in television and film production).
He was the President of the Maison de la France (the mission of Maison de la France is to promote France as a tourist destination, mainly abroad) from March 1999 to March 2005. He was also en advisor on French foreign trade and National Advisor for tourism.
He is the co-founder of the Institut du Mécénat Humanitaire, an officer of the Légion d’Honneur, officer of Arts et des Lettres and officer of the Ordre National du Mérite.
