Teacher and translator

An American citizen, Constance Borde has lived in France over forty years. She teaches English at Sciences Po and is an author of grammar books.
She is also co-author of the new translation of Simone de Beauvoir’s The Second Sex, due to be released by the Random House Group in November 2009.
In addition, she is politically active, having served as the Chair and presently Vice-Chair of Democrats Abroad France as well as a member of the US Democratic National Committee.
She has been active in women’s rights in Afghanistan, having served two terms as Vice-Chair of an Afghan NGO for guaranteeing political rights to women.

She is a member of the Paris Committee since it was created in 2007.
