We have received many messages and cannot respond immediately to all of them, but we want to thank you all for your loving support and to notify you of memorials to Alison that are being planned. The first will be held this coming Sunday, February 22, at 3:00 p.m., in St Joseph's Church, 3269 Main Street, just south of the Main Street Campus of the University at Buffalo, Buffalo, N. Y.
The memorial will be followed by a reception in Harriman Hall, a five-minute walk away on UB's South Campus.
In lieu of flowers, we request that donations be made to Human Rights Watch in memory of Alison L. Des Forges. Donations may be made online, or by post to Human Rights Watch, 350 Fifth Avenue, 34th floor, New York, N.Y., 10118-3299.
Tributes to Alison may also be posted and read online.
To accommodate those who cannot make this memorial service, Human Rights Watch is planning additional memorials at times and places to be announced.
