Researcher, Europe and Central Asia
Wanda Troszczynska-van Genderen, researcher with the Europe and Central Asia division, covers various human rights topics in the Western Balkans, including minority rights, criminal justice reforms, accountability for war crimes, accountability of international institutions and counterterrorism. She has conducted research, advocacy and media work on the above-mentioned topics in Serbia, Kosovo, Bosnia and Croatia, as well as monitored developments at the EU level. Before joining Human Rights Watch, Wanda worked on human rights issues in the Balkans with the United Nations, Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and European Union. She holds an MSc in international relations from the London School of Economics and B.A. in international studies and political science from Macalester College. She speaks Polish, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian.
