Nationality of "Special Interest" Cases

Source: INS detainees defined as "special interest" cases on a list released by the Department of Justice on January 11, 2002, the only detailed list of detainees that the U.S. government has disclosed to date. Those held on federal criminal charges are not included because the Department of Justice has not disclosed their nationalities. Also not included are material witnesses and any individuals held on local or state criminal charges, whose number, identities, and nationalities have not been revealed by the Department of Justice.
