Monument erected in Laxmanpur-Bathe by a Marxist-Leninist group. The monument shows the names of those killed in the massacre. Several Marxist-Leninist groups, or "Naxalites," have engaged in a militant struggle to achieve higher wages and more equitable land distribution in the state of Bihar.
