WHAT YOU CAN DO

You can write a letter to the President, Secretary of Defense, First Lady or the Secretary of State and send by fax or e-mail. Let them know how you feel about child soldiers and the United States' role in blocking progress on the Optional Protocol. Urge them to support 18 as the minimum age for participation in armed conflict and ask them why the U.S. hasn't ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Ask them to ensure that the United States does not obstruct the world's efforts to end the use of child soldiers.
