- Amnesty International, the international human rights group. The site includes a number of reports on Colombia.
- Center for International Policy (CIP), a nonprofit educational and research organization promoting a U.S. foreign policy based on international cooperation, demilitarization, and respect for basic human rights. The group has a special Colombia project.
- Latin America Working Group, a Washington-based group that lobbies the U.S. Congress in favor of human rights in Latin America and has launched a special campaign on Colombia.
- Peace Brigades International, a group that puts together volunteer international accompaniment teams in areas of conflict at the request of local organizations. PBI currently has teams in Bogotá, Medellín, the Urabá region, and Barrancabermeja.
- U.S. Committee for Refugees, a refugee rights group, which focuses on Colombia's forcibly displaced population.
- U.S. Office on Colombia , a group that seeks to educate U.S. policymakers, the media and public about the impact of U.S. policy on Colombia. By supporting Colombian civil society initiatives and broadening knowledge, understanding and debate, it aims to assist in the development of policy solutions
- Washington Office on Latin America, a nonprofit group that promotes human rights, democracy, and social justice in Latin America.

- Consultoría Para los Derechos Humanos y el Desplazamiento Colombia (CODHES), an independent research group that works with Colombia's forcibly displaced population and is based in Bogotá, Colombia.
- Oficina en Colombia del Alto Comisionado para los Derechos Humanos, the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, based in Bogotá, Colombia.
- País Libre, an independent research group that studies kidnaping and is based in Bogotá, Colombia.
- Pastoral Social, the Catholic Church's social welfare office. It includes a regular bulletin that compiles information from across Colombia on forced displacement.
