Researcher, Western Europe

Izza Leghtas, Western Europe researcher, works on issues related to discrimination, migration, and minority rights. Before joining Human Rights Watch she worked at Amnesty International’s International Secretariat as a researcher on France and Spain and then as a researcher on the Maghreb, focusing on Tunisia and Morocco. Prior to that she worked as a legal assistant at the Court of Justice of the European Union. Leghtas holds law degrees from the University of Montpellier, France, the University of Luxembourg, and the College of Europe in Bruges. She is fluent in English, French, Arabic, and Spanish.
