Global Advocate, Women's Rights Division

 
Gauri van Gulik is the global advocate for the women’s rights division at Human Rights Watch. Van Gulik specializes in reproductive health, women migrants and women’s issues in the EU system and the Council of Europe. She formerly worked for Marie Stopes International, where she was the European Advocacy Officer, the International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims, the Civil Liberties Committee in the European Parliament and the OHCHR.
 
Van Gulik holds a BA and MA in European and Comparative Law and an MA in human rights from the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation in Venice, and speaks Dutch and English, as well as some French and German.
