Researcher, Women's Rights Division
Aruna Kashyap is the Asia researcher in the women’s rights division. Her work focuses on reproductive health, violence against women, and women’s economic rights in the region.
Before she joined Human Rights Watch in 2007, Kashyap researched and litigated in Mumbai with a leading legal aid nonprofit, India Center for Human Rights and Law. There, she worked on juvenile justice, sexual abuse, and children’s rights to education and food. Kashyap has a law degree from National Law School of India University, Bangalore.
